Topic: Grief, Loss and Love

Every photo we take in our lifetime has a story. As these few I have put into this ; has just those. My grandparents were two people who were full of love for not only each other, but for their family and the life they had created. They were the grandparents that you would want to spend every waking moment with. As I was one of those grandkids who did just that. I spent most of my childhood on the family farm my grandparents built from the ground up. I learned a lot from my time spent there. My grandparents were some of the most hardworking people. My grandma Betty worked as a cashier at one of the local liquor stores here in town. She worked most of her life until March 2020 when COVID hit. A total of 35 years. My grandpa Jim, was a railroad worker for 30 years. Also, he was a farmer. They both taught me so much, especially to work hard for what you want. They were together for almost 50 years, until my Grandpa Jim passed away from Cancer in December 2014. It was hard for me, and I know it was more hard for my Grandma. But she didn’t let it stop her from living her best life. She lived until February 2022. It has been hard losing both of some of the best people that were in my life. But I know they would both be proud of the woman I am becoming and will be in the future. They impacted me in ways I will forever cherish for the rest of my life. They were the people I would go to when I needed someone or somewhere to go. I spent a lot of my childhood going to the stockyards with my grandpa, or chilling with my grandma while she was at work. Mostly watching crime shows with her on TV. My grandpa was my best friend growing up. I was always with him. He may of taught me how to fish. But his biggest thing was, he taught me how to smile, even if you’re in pain. My grandma saw my first heartbreak, grow into a teenager, start my first job and start college into what would be my future. They literally seen me grow. I know they will continue to looking down. I can go on and on about these two but I can only say so much. Jim and Betty Scott. My people.
